Why Attend This Training Course?
The increasing demand and applications of non-linear load in industries nowadays greatly affects the quality of the power system. Unfortunately, most of the older electrical designs of industries have no anticipation for these kinds of loads. Nuisance tripping and unplanned downtimes in industrial and commercial establishments greatly affect production and result in a great economical loss. In recent years, there has been considerable increase in nonlinear loads, in particular distributed loads such as computers, TV monitors and lighting. These draw harmonic currents which have detrimental effects including communication interference, loss of reliability, increased operating costs, equipment overheating, machine, transformer and capacitor failures, and inaccurate power metering. This course aims to ensure that power engineering students can develop solutions to power quality problems of electrical machines and power systems, from gaining knowledge of modelling, simulation and measuring techniques for transformers, machines, capacitors and power systems. Opportunity will be also provided for a review of participants’ work, to clarify any outstanding issues.

What Is The Training Course Methodology?
This training methodology illustrates the concepts involved in the above areas through practical consideration of actual real-life problems, as well as explanation of concepts by experts in area using video projectors and computer aided case studies based on practical applications. Participants will solve their system problem, where the trainee’s try to apply the skills learnt with guidance from our specialized experts. ACAD will provide participants a comprehensive assessment on the problems solved using the skills acquired in the training course.

Who Should Attend This Training Course?
This training course is intended for Designers, Engineers and technicians from power utilities, electronic and electrical manufacturing, importing, sales and distributing companies – Engineering professionals in power utilities, petrochemical companies, IT, EDP and security, aviation, buildings and hospitals service managers.
