Why Attend This Training Course?
Working with high voltage systems is inherently hazardous, and the best defense against incidents is a thorough understanding of safe working practice. Our course is applicable to a wide range of marine high voltage systems. The training gives participants the essential education and training in high voltage (HV) installations to meet the knowledge, understanding and proficiency requirements for electrical, electronic and control systems at the operational level. This course is aimed at candidates who require competency in the safe operation of high voltage power systems. It is suitable for personnel who are required to enter marine/offshore high voltage switch rooms and perform switching operations on high voltage equipment. This course is delivered by our experienced HV training professionals, each of whom has worked for several decades in the HV industry.
What Is The Training Course Methodology?
This training methodology illustrates the concepts involved in the above areas through practical consideration of actual real-life problems, as well as explanation of concepts by experts in area using video projectors and computer aided case studies based on practical applications. Participants will solve their system problem, where the trainee’s try to apply the skills learnt with guidance from our specialized experts. ACAD will provide participants a comprehensive assessment on the problems solved using the skills acquired in the training course.
Who Should Attend This Training Course?
This training course is intended for Electrical/non-electrical personnel required to carry out restricted HV switching operations with limited safety document issuing responsibilities.
What Are The Training Course Objectives?
This is an intermediate training programme that requires a basic level of electrical knowledge. Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will be able to enter high voltage switch rooms and perform limited switching operations, etc., on high voltage equipment. Additionally, participants will be introduced to the basic concept of electrical power systems to enable them to enter substations/switch rooms, carry out restricted switching operations; monitor the performance and condition of the system (including relay operation) in a safe and competent manner. The course is intended to provide knowledge and awareness of limited safety document issuing responsibilities.
